About our chlorinators service
Salt cells wear out — it's normal. Most cells last 5–7 years depending on run time and water balance. When the plates are worn thin or heavily scaled, the unit simply can't produce enough chlorine, no matter how high you turn it up.
We stock and install cells and full units from Astral/Hurlcon (Viron, VX), Zodiac, Davey (Chloromatic), Waterco (Hydrochlor) and Monarch. Where possible we retrofit a new cell into your existing control box to save cost.
For self-cleaning (reverse-polarity) chlorinators we can also repair control boards, reversing timers and flow sensors — often the cell is fine and only the electronics need work.

How long should a salt cell last?+
5–7 years in Brisbane conditions with balanced water. Poor pH control or running the unit above 80% output constantly will shorten cell life significantly.
Can I just replace the cell myself?+
Cells are plug-in on most brands, but sizing and cable orientation matter. If it's wrong the unit reads a fault and won't run — we can supply and fit for the same total as retail.
Why does my chlorinator keep saying 'Low Salt'?+
Nine times out of ten it's a worn cell, not low salt. Test the water first — if salt is 4000+ ppm and it still complains, the cell is done.
